The creation of this Mexican unit results from the determination of the DIAM GROUP directors to support the activity of ADIAMAS, bought by the group in 1997 and whose main activity is to manufacture accessories and components for the small household appliances sector.
After a vast market study carried out in 1999/2000, it appears that Mexico is geographically the ideal site for anyone wishing to penetrate the NAFTA markets (USA and Canada) and remain competitive. The DIAM GROUP sees in this Mexican unit the possibility of keeping markets increasingly threatened by the emergence of low cost industrial labour and sets out on its adventure in 2001.
Today, the Mexican unit of the DIAM GROUP still supports the activity of ADIAMAS by the assembly for the household appliances and has, in parallel, restarted an activity for manufacturing textile blades in partnership with the world leader of the market.
Its future projects are to continue to support the activities of any member of the group which so requires and to develop its capacities in industrial subcontracting.
